November 11, 2007 - The Lakeside Red Sox defeated Spokane South 4-2 to win the Junior Division (age 13-14) championship in Spokane North Little League action October 13th at Glover Middle School.

The Lakeside Red Sox were the underdogs in the contest against a South Spokane all-star entry that had won every game they had played by the ten-run mercy rule. Lakeside, however, played nearly perfect baseball defensively, finishing with no errors and only one wild pitch. Tyler Moore-Long and Taylor Baker combined for 18 strikeouts in shutting down South Spokane who scored only on a past ball and a fielder’s choice. Luke Holbert handled six chances at shortstop without an error, and Jake Eriksen threw out the only runner attempting extra bases from center field, to end a South Hill rally.

The team’s core was made up of eight LHS freshman (Evan Dobbs, Taylor Baker, Colby Dvorak, Luke Holbert, Tyler Moore-Long, Nick Morse, Jake Ericksen, Matt Doyle), most who have been playing together since April. The roster also included and LMS seventh grader (Jackson Holbert) and two players from the Spokane area.
